MAX213EWI+

The MAX213EWI+ is a +5V, RS232 transceiver with 0.1µF external capacitors in 28 pin WSOIC package. It is a RS232 and V.28 transceiver with integrated charge pump circuitry for single +5V supply operation. It consists of three sections such as charge pump voltage converters, drivers (transmitters) and receivers. The integrated charge pump circuitry eliminates the need for bipolar ±12V supply and enables single supply operation from +5V or 9V to +12V. The driver maintains the ±5V EIA/TIA-232E output signal levels at data rates in excess of 120Kbps when loaded in accordance with the EIA/TIA-232E specification. Typical applications include battery-powered equipment, handheld equipment and portable diagnostics equipment.

• RS-232 input voltage operating range from -30V to +30V
• 4 RS-232 drivers, 4 RS-232 receivers and 2 receiver active in shutdown
• 200ns output disable time, 600ns output enable time
• Receiver propagation delay is 0.5µs at SHDN(active low) = VCC
• 5.5V/µs transition region slew rate
• Maximum data rate is 120Kbps
