AD7982 is a 18bit, successive approximation, analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single power supply, VDD. It contains a low power, high speed, 18bit sampling ADC and a versatile serial interface port. On the CNV rising edge, this device samples the voltage difference between the IN+ and IN- pins. The voltages on these pins usually swing in opposite phases between 0V and VREF. The reference voltage, VREF, is applied externally and can be set independent of the supply voltage, VDD. Its power scales linearly with throughput. The serial peripheral interface (SPI)-compatible serial interface also features the ability, using the SDI input, to daisy-chain several ADCs on a single 3-wire bus and provides an optional busy indicator. It is used in applications such as automated test equipment, data acquisition systems, medical instruments, machine automation.

- 10MHz typical -3dB input bandwidth at (VDD = 2.5V, VIO = 1.71V to 5.5V)
- Load current is 350μA typical at (VDD = 2.5V, VIO = 1.71V to 5.5V)
- Operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C, package style is 10-lead LFCSP
