DS9503P+

The DS9503P+ is an ESD protection diode with resistors in 6pin TSOC package. This ESD protection device is designed for 1wire MicroLAN interfaces. It includes two 5ohm isolation resistors on chip. Although 5ohm resistors are negligible during communication, they represent a high impedance relative to conducting diode during an ESD event. Thus, the diode absorbs energy while resistors further isolate and protect circuit at other side of package. If used with circuits that already have strong ESD protection at their I/O port. ESD protection level is raised to more that 27KV (IEC 801-2 reference model). In case of abnormal conditions, ESD hits beyond its maximum ratings and DS9503 device will eventually fail "short" thus preventing further damage.
