Product Overview
The USB-KW24D512 board is an IEEE 802.15.4 packet sniffer in a convenient USB dongle form factor. Packet sniffers are essential for wireless network development allowing over the air traffic monitoring. As a standalone board, it can also be utilized in a lab as a development platform and programmed as a network node. The USB-KW24D512 includes MKW24D512 device with 32MHz reference crystal oscillator, RF circuitry including antenna and supporting circuitry in a USB stick hardware format. This is used in a simple standalone application or in combination with other boards. NXP provides a complete software development environment called the NXP BeeKit wireless connectivity toolkit. A wide range of software functionality is available to complement the USB-KW24D512 platform and these are provided as codebases with in BeeKit.

- Typical current consumption of 250µA/MHz in run mode and 1.7µA in RTC standby mode
- -102dBm RX sensitivity and +8dBm TX output power
- Peak typical current consumption of 17mA at TX and 19mA at RX
- Dual Personal Area Network (PAN) support in hardware
- Active and passive tamper detection with RTC timestamp
- DES, 3DES, AES 128-256, SHA-1, SHA-256, MD5, RNG crypto engine
- USB 2.0 FS/LS H/D/OTG
- Supply voltage is 5VDC
