Product Overview
MPQ7200A is a fixed-frequency, constant current buck-boost synchronous LED driver with integrated power MOSFETs. It offers a very compact solution to achieve 1.2A of continuous output current (IOUT), with excellent load and line regulation across a wide input supply range. The MPQ7200A can also be configured for buck mode to provide up to 3A of continuous load current. Constant frequency hysteretic control mode provides extremely fast transient response without loop compensation. Full protection features include overcurrent protection (OCP), output overvoltage protection (OVP) and undervoltage protection (UVP), thermal derating (TD) and thermal shutdown (TSD). The fault indicator outputs an active logic low signal if a fault condition occurs. The MPQ7200A requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components and is available in a space-saving QFN-19 package. Applications include turn indicator lights, daytime running lights (DRLs), fog lights and rear lights.

- Internal 500Hz two-step dimming with configurable duty cycle
- High performance for improved thermals, configurable LED current without sensing resistor
- 44mohm/40mohm low RDS(ON) internal power MOSFETs, high-efficiency synchronous mode
- Default 410KHz switching frequency (fSW) with spread spectrum, EMI reduction technique
- LED short (to GND and battery), LED open and output OVP with fault indication
- Fast control loop:band to band control
- 5% LED current accuracy from 700mA to 1.2A for buck-boost or 1A to 2A for buck
- AEC-Q100 grade 1 qualified
