The RN171-I/RM481 from Microchip is a 2.4GHz IEEE standard 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN module with firmware version 4.81. The RN171 is a standalone, embedded 802.11 b/g Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) module. The module incorporates an on-board TCP/IP networking stack, cryptographic accelerator, power management subsystem, real-time clock, versatile sensor interface, 2.4GHz transceiver and RF power amplifier. With the RN171, designers can embed Wi-Fi and networking functionality rapidly into virtually any device. The RN171 provides cost and time-to-market savings as a self-contained internet-enabling solution. The module has been designed to provide designers with a simple Wi-Fi solution that features ease of integration and programming, vastly reduced development time, minimum system cost, long battery life, maximum value in a range of applications.
- Small form factor and ultra low power for battery powered applications
- Firmware configurable transmit power range from 0dBm to +12dBm
- Hardware interfaces such as UART and SPI
- Supports SoftAP and infrastructure networking modes
- VDD range from 3.0V to 3.7V, temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
- RF pad for external antenna, user programmable GPIO & ADCs
