MCP3221A0T-E/OT is a 12bit, low power, 2-wire serial successive approximation A/D converter with IC interface. It provides one single-ended input with very low-power consumption. Low-current consumption, combined with the small package, make this device ideal for battery powered and remote data acquisition applications. It is performed using a 2-wire, I2C compatible interface. An on-chip conversion clock enables independent timing for the I2C and conversion clocks. The device is also addressable, allowing up to eight devices on a single 2-wire bus. Application includes data logging, multi-zone monitoring, handheld portable applications, battery-powered test equipment, remote or isolated data acquisition.

- Differential nonlinearity is ±0.5LSB typ (VDD = 5.0V, VSS = GND, RPU = 2Kohm, TA = -40 to +85°C)
- Integral nonlinearity is ±0.75LSB typ (VDD = 5.0V, VSS = GND, RPU = 2Kohm, TA = -40 to +85°C)
- Conversion current is 175µA typ (VDD = 5.0V, VSS = GND, RPU = 2Kohm, TA = -40 to +85°C)
- Standby current is 0.005µA typ (SDA, SCL = VDD, VDD = 5.0V, VSS = GND, TA = -40 to +85°C)
- Clock frequency is 100KHz max (VDD = 2.7 to 5.5V, VSS = GND, TA = -40 to +85°C)
- Single-ended analogue input channel
- Sample rate is 22.3ksps max (fSCL = 400 KHz, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- On-chip sample and hold, on-chip conversion clock
- 5 pin SOT-23 package, extended operating temperature range from -40 to 125°C
