FT2232D-REEL is a USB full speed to dual channel serial UART/FIFO/JTAG/SPI/I2C IC. The FT2232D is the 3rd generation of FTDI’s popular USB UART/FIFO IC. The FT2232D is an updated version of the FT2232C and its lead free version, the FT2232L. This device features two multi-purpose UART/FIFO controllers which can be configured individually in several different modes. As well as a UART interface, a FIFO interface and the Bit-Bang IO mode of the 2nd generation FT232B and FT245B devices, the FT2232D offers a variety of additional new modes of operation including a Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) interface which is designed specifically for synchronous serial protocols such as I2C, JTAG and SPI bus.
- Single chip USB to dual channel serial / parallel ports with a variety of configurations
- USB to parallel FIFO transfer data rate up to 1 megabyte / second
- CPU-style FIFO interface mode simplifies CPU interface design
- MCU host bus emulation mode configuration option
- Fast opto-isolated serial interface option, configurable I/O drive strength
- Fully assisted hardware or X-on / X-off software handshaking
- Low operating and USB suspend current, UHCI/OHCI/EHCI host controller compatible
- Supports bus powered, self powered and high-power bus powered USB configurations
- 4.35V to +5.25V single supply operating voltage range
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
