Product Overview

The MAX502AEWG+ is a voltage output, 12bit multiplying DAC in 24 pin WSOIC package. It is a 4 quadrant, voltage output, multiplying digital to analogue converter (DAC) with an output amplifier. Thin film resistors, laser trimmed at the wafer level, maintain accuracy over the full operating temperature range. Data is transferred into input register in either a right justified with a 12bit wide data path. For stand-alone operation, the active-low CS and active-low WR inputs are grounded, making all latches transparent. All logic inputs are level triggered and compatible with TTL and +5V CMOS logic levels. The internally compensated, low input offset voltage output amplifier provides an output voltage from +10V to -10V while sourcing and sinking up to 5mA. It is used in automatic test equipment, digital attenuators, digital to 4mA to 20mA converters, programmable power supplies, programmable gain amplifiers and servo controls.
  • Supply voltage range from 11.40V to 15.75V, supply current of 10mA (IDD), 4mA (ISS)
  • Monotonic over temperature
  • Four range scaling resistors
  • Relative accuracy of ±1/2LSB at TA = 25°C
  • Differential nonlinearity of ±1LSB, gain error of ±3LSB (RFB, Vout connected)
  • Zero code offset error of ±1mV at TA = 25°C, full power bandwidth of 250KHz
  • Input registers are controlled by standard active-low CHIP SELECT and active-low WRITE signals
  • Buffered latches that are easily interfaced with microprocessors
  • Slew rate of 5V/µs, unity gain small signal bandwidth of 3MHz
  • Operating temperature range form -40°C to 85°C
