Product Overview
The MAX4831ELT+T is a current limit switch with NO-LOAD flag in 6 pin µDFN package. This switch has internal current limiting to prevent host devices from being damaged due to faulty load conditions. This analogue switch has a low 1.4 ohm on-resistance at TA = +25°C, IOUT = 20mA and operate from a +2.3V to +5.5V input voltage range making them ideal for load switching applications. In addition to the current limit fault flag (active-low FFLG), an open-drain no-load flag indicator (active-low NOLD) notifies the system when the current through the switch is less than 5mA. The MAX4831 has an autoretry feature where the switch turns off after the blanking time and then continuously checks to see if the overload condition is present. The switch remains on after the overload condition disappears. Typical applications include GPS systems, cell phones, digital still cameras, PDAs, palmtop devices and MP3 players.
- 50mA minimum FULL-LOAD limit, 5mA maximum NO-LOAD limit
- Current limit fault flag (active-low FFLG) is issued, remains low until fault condition is removed
- Thermal shutdown and reverse current protection, operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
- 14ms to 60ms blanking time (overcurrent fault)
- 65µA supply current, 0.01µA shutdown current
- 5mA no-load threshold
- Undervoltage lockout, fast current limit response time
- 50µs turn-on time, 30ns turn-off time, 840ms maximum retry time
- 50mA to 120mA forward current limit at RL = 10 ohm, 120mA reverse current limit at VOUT - VIN
