Product Overview
LT3960 is a robust high speed transceiver that extends I²C bus through harsh or noisy environments at upto 400kbps using the CAN-physical layer. One device sits near the I²C, creating from SCL and SDA equivalent differential buses (I²CAN) on two twisted pairs. At the other end of the twisted pairs, a second device recreates the I²C bus locally for any I²C devices. It is widely used in application such as industrial networking, automotive networking, remote sensors etc.
- Protected from overvoltage line faults to ±40V
- Upto 400kbps I²C communications
- Input voltage operating range is 4V to 60V
- Bus voltage range is 3.3V or 5V
- Extended common mode range (±36V)
- Current limited drivers with thermal shutdown
- Power-up/down glitch free driver outputs
- Low current shutdown mode, transmit data dominant timeout function
- Operating temperature is -40°C to 125°C
- Package style is 10-lead plastic MSOP
