Product Overview
HMC438MS8G is a prescaler MMIC. It is a low noise divide-by-5 static divider utilizing InGaP GaAs HBT technology in low cost 8 lead surface mount plastic packages. This device operates from DC (with a square wave input) to 7GHz input frequency from a single +5VDC supply. The low additive SSB phase noise of -153 dBc/Hz at 100KHz offset helps the user maintain good system noise performance. Prescaler for DC to C Band PLL applications are UNII, point-to-point and VSAT radios, 802.11a and HiperLAN WLAN, fibre optic, cellular/3G infrastructure.
- Wide bandwidth
- Maximum input frequency is 7.5GHz typ (TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- Input power range from -15 to +12dBm (fin= 1 to 5GHz, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- Output power is -1dBm typ (TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- Reverse leakage is -50dBm typ (both RF outputs terminated, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- SSB phase noise (100KHz offset) is -153dBc/Hz typ (Pin= 0dBm, Fin= 6GHz, TA=+25°C, Vcc= 5V)
- Output transition time is 100ps typ (Pin= 0dBm, Fout= 882MHz, TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- Supply current (Icc) is 80mA typical (TA=+25°C, 50 ohm system, Vcc= 5V)
- Low stress injection moulded plastic package
- Temperature rating range from -40 to +85°C
