Product Overview
ADUM4146BRWZ is a single-channel gate driver specifically optimized for driving silicon carbide (SiC), and metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs). Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology provides isolation between the input signal and the output gate drive. It includes a Miller clamp to provide robust SiC turn-off with a single-rail supply when the gate voltage drops to less than 2V. Operation with unipolar or bipolar secondary supplies is possible with or without the Miller clamp operation. The Analog Devices chip scale transformers also provide isolated communication of control information between the high-voltage and low-voltage domains of the chip. Information on the status of the chip can be read back from dedicated outputs. Control of resetting the device after a fault on the secondary side is performed on the primary side of the device. Applications include SiC/MOSFET/IGBT gate drivers, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, motor drives, power supplies.
- VDD1 input voltage range from 2.5V to 6V, miller clamp output with gate sense input
- Desaturation protection, soft shutdown on desaturation fault
- Isolated fault and ready functions, output voltage range up to 30V
- Input current, (quiescent) VDD2 is 4.9mA typ at (TJ = 25°C)
- Peak current is 4.61A typ at (VDD2 = 12V, 2 ohm gate resistance)
- Pulse width is 50ns minimum at (load capacitance (CL) = 2nF, VDD2 = 15V)
- Propagation delay is 75ns typ at (CL = 2nF, VDD2 = 15V, RGON2= RGOFF2 = 3.9 ohm)
- Common-mode transient immunity (Static CMTI) is 100kV/µs min at (common-mode voltage (VCM) = 1500V)
- Output rise and fall time is 16ns typ at (CL = 2nF, VDD2 = 15V, RGON2 = RGOFF2 = 3.9 ohm)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 16-lead WSOIC package
