Product Overview
ADuM3471 is a quad-channel digital isolator with an integrated PWM controller and transformer driver for an isolated dc-to-dc converter. This eliminates the need for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter in 2W isolated designs. The iCoupler chip scale transformer technology is used to isolate the logic signals and the integrated transformer driver with isolated secondary side control provides higher efficiency for the isolated dc-to-dc converter. The result is a small form factor, total isolation solution. Safety and regulatory approvals are UL recognition: 2500 V rms for 1 minute per UL 1577, CSA component acceptance notice #5A, VDE certificate of conformity, DIN V VDE V 0884-10 (VDE V 0884-10):2006-12, VIORM=560 V peak. Typical applications are RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 transceivers, industrial field bus isolation, power supply start-up bias and gate drives, isolated sensor interfaces, process controls, automotive.

- 70% efficiency at guaranteed load of 400mA at 5.0V output
- Pulse-by-pulse overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown
- Isolated output voltage range from 4.5 to 5.5V (IISO=0 mA, VISO=VFB × (R1 + R2)/R2, TA=25°C)
- Output ripple is 50mV p-p typ (20MHz bandwidth, COUT=0.1µF / 47µF, IISO=100mA, TA=25°C)
- Switching frequency is 1000KHz typ (ROC=50Kohm, 4.5V ≤ VDD1=VDDA ≤ 5.5V, TA=25°C)
- Maximum data rate is 1Mbps min (4.5V ≤ VDD1=VDDA ≤ 5.5V, TA=25°C)
- 100ns maximum propagation delay, 40ns maximum pulse width distortion
- 20-lead SSOP package
- Temperature rating range from −40 to +105°C
