Product Overview
AD8278 is a general-purpose difference amplifier intended for precision signal conditioning in power critical applications that require both high performance and low power. It provides an exceptional common mode rejection ratio (80dB) and high bandwidth while amplifying input signals that are well beyond the supply rails. The on-chip resistor is laser trimmed for excellent gain accuracy and high CMRR. This also has extremely low gain drift vs. temperature. The common-mode range of the amplifier extends to almost triple the supply voltage (for G = ½), making the amplifier ideal for single-supply applications that require a high common mode voltage range. Application includes voltage measurement and monitoring, current measurement and monitoring, instrumentation amplifier building block, portable, battery-powered equipment, test and measurement.

- 1MHz typical bandwidth (VS = ±5V to ±15V, VREF = 0V, TA = 25°C, G = ½)
- 1.4V/μs typical slew rate (VS = ±5V to ±15V, VREF = 0V, TA = 25°C, G = ½)
- 130dB typical channel separation (f = 1KHz, VS = ±5V to ±15V, VREF = 0V, TA = 25°C, G = ½)
- 9μs maximum settling time to 0.01% (TA = 25°C, 10V step on output, CL = 100pF, G = ½)
- 0.005% typical gain error (VS = ±5V to ±15V, VREF = 0V, TA = 25°C, G = ½)
- Operating voltage range from ±2V to ±18V (VS = ±5V to ±15V, VREF = 0V, TA = 25°C, G = ½)
- 8 lead MSOP package, operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
