Product Overview
AD8138 is a low distortion, differential ADC driver. It can be used as a single-ended-to-differential amplifier or as a differential-to-differential amplifier. It is as easy to use as an opamp and greatly simplifies differential signal amplification and driving. It has a unique internal feedback feature that provides balanced output gain and phase matching, suppressing even order harmonics. The internal feedback circuit also minimizes any gain error that would be associated with the mismatches in the external gain setting resistors. It eliminates the need for a transformer with high performance ADCs, preserving the low frequency and dc information. Fast overload recovery preserves sampling accuracy. It is widely used in application such as ADC drivers, single-ended-to-differential converters, IF and baseband gain blocks, differential buffers, line drivers etc.

- Adjustable output common-mode voltage, externally adjustable gain
- SFDR is −94dBctyp at 5MHz, −85dBc typ at 20MHz
- −3dB bandwidth is 320MHz typ at G = +1
- Fast settling to 0.01% is 16ns
- Slew rate is 1150V/µs, fast overdrive recovery of 4ns
- Low input voltage noise is 5nV/√Hz, offset voltage is 1mW typ
- Wide supply voltage range is +3V to ±5V
- Low power is 90mW at 5V, 0.1dB gain flatness to 40MHz
- Operating temperature is −40°C to +85°C, packaging style is 8-lead MSOP
