Product Overview
AD8036 is a wide bandwidth, low distortion clamping amplifier. It is unity gain stable and stable at gains of two or greater. This device allows the designer to specify a high (VCH) and low (VCL) output clamp voltage. The output signal will clamp at these specified levels. Utilizing a unique patent pending CLAMPIN™ input clamp architecture, this offers a 10× improvement in clamp performance compared to traditional output clamping devices. In particular, clamp error is typically 3mV or less, and distortion in the clamp region is minimized. This product can be used as a classical op-amp or a clamp amplifier where a high and low output voltage is specified. Application includes ADC Buffer, IF/RF signal processing, high quality imaging, broadcast video systems video amplifier, and full wave rectifier.

- Typical clamp input bandwidth (–3dB) is 240MHz ( VCH or VCL=2V p-p, VS= 5V; RLOAD=100 ohm)
- Good DC characteristics, 2mV offset
- Typical offset voltage drift is ±10µV/°C (VS= 5V; RLOAD=100 ohm)
- Typical common-mode rejection ratio is 90dB (VS= 5V; RLOAD=100 ohm)
- Typical power supply rejection ratio is 60dB (TMIN–TMAX, VS= 5V; RLOAD=100 ohm)
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to +85°C
