Product Overview
AD8036ANZ is a wide bandwidth, low distortion clamping amplifier. The AD8036 is unity gain stable. This device allows the designer to specify a high (VCH) and low (VCL) output clamp voltage. The output signal will clamp at these specified levels. Utilizing a unique patent pending CLAMPIN™ input clamp architecture, it offers a 10× improvement in clamp performance compared to traditional output clamping devices. In particular, clamp error is typically 3mV or less, and distortion in the clamp region is minimized. This product can be used as a classical op-amp or a clamp amplifier where a high and low output voltage is specified. It utilizes a voltage feedback architecture and meets the requirements of many applications that previously depended on current feedback amplifiers. It is used in applications such as ADC buffer, IF/RF signal processing, high-quality imaging, broadcast video systems, video amplifiers, and full wave rectifiers.

- Slew rate, average +/– is 1200V/µs typical at (VOUT = 4V Step, 10–90%, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Settling time to 0.1% is 10ns typical at (VOUT = 2V step, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Input voltage noise is 6.7nV√Hz typical at (1MHz to 200MHz, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Differential gain error (3.58MHz) is 0.05% typical at (RL = 150 ohm, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Differential phase error (3.58 MHz) is 0.02° typical at (RL = 150 ohm, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Input bias current is 4µA typical at (±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Operating voltage range from 3V to 6V, quiescent current is 20.5mA typical at (±VS = ±5V)
- Common-mode rejection ratio is 90dB typical at (VCM = ±2V, ±VS = ±5V; RLOAD = 100 ohm)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 8-lead plastic DIP
