製品概要

MAX3243EAI+ is a RS-232 transceiver with AutoShutdown. It achieves 1µA supply current with the AutoShutdown™ feature. When the device does not sense a valid signal level on its receiver inputs, the onboard power supply and drivers shut down. This occurs if the RS-232 cable is disconnected or if the transmitters of the connected peripheral are turned off. The system turns on again when a valid level is applied to any RS-232 receiver input. A proprietary, high-efficiency, dual charge-pump power supply and a low-dropout transmitter combines to deliver true RS-232 performance from a single +3.0V to +5.5V supply. Applications include battery-powered equipment, hand-held equipment, peripherals, and portable diagnostics equipment.

  • Eliminates the need for a ±12 supply
  • Operation from a single +3.3V or +5V supply
  • 1µA supply current in shutdown mode saves power
  • AutoShutdown feature is enabled after no activity on receiver inputs for 30µs
  • Supply current (shutdown) is 1.0µA typ at active-low FORCEOFF=GND, VCC=3.3V or 5.0V, TA=+25°C
  • Maximum data rate is 120kbps min at RL=3kohm, CL=1000pF, one transmitter switching
  • Receiver propagation delay is 0.3μs typ at Receiver input to receiver output, CL=150pF
  • 28 SSOP package
  • Temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
